BOJZ is a socially sensitive and poetic piece of theatre. The story is about a family living on the margins of society, depicting how the often uncontrollably flaring, contradictory, confused emotions of the various members of the family are expressed in the characters' disjointed but somehow mysterious and movingly beautiful speech.
Réka Somorjai's first play goes beyond the narration of various tales of suffering arising from poverty. The performance invites the viewer to engage with the creative interplay between imagined-realities and actual-realities, and to discover distinction between imagined and actual suffering.
The project was selected as a winner of the Budapest Staféta competition, which provides an opportunity for young artists to create independent performances. The production is currently included in the repertoire of the Szkéné Theatre in Budapest.
